Our Camping les Cascades is a family business that is committed to sustainable growth. In order to reconcile respect for people and protection of the environment, the campsite carries out different activities in terms of corporate social responsibility. Here are our commitments:

Reduction of the environmental footprint

We recover and give all the corks from our wine bottles served in the Italian restaurant or in the bar to an association which is in charge of recycling the cork. The aim of this approach? To reuse cork in many areas, such as thermal and acoustic insulation, through the creation of design objects and artistic creations, but also by planting it to grow cork oaks.

For the cleaning done by our cleaners, we use a Vapodil. This is a dry steam cleaning and disinfecting solution, which allows us to clean and disinfect all our mobile homes and private bathrooms at the same time. Without chemical products, it respects nature, it respects our holidaymakers and allows our cleaning ladies to work in greater comfort (no strong smell, less effort and more practical). In addition to this, with Vapodil a minimal amount of water is used: 1 litre as opposed to the 30 to 50 litres of hot water needed for a traditional cleaning!

From the 2022 season onwards, we will no longer use disposable plastic packaging. In previous years we used a lot of plastic packaging, especially for our sheets and towels. Is there a reason for this decision? Yes, we are aware of this and we want to include sheets and towels in every stay in the low season. What’s more, we use washable undersheets in each of our accommodations, whether for pillows or beds. No more unnecessary waste!

At our campsite located next to the Cascades du Sautadet, we use electric cars to get around. A silent means of transport that respects nature.
From 2022 onwards, you too will be able to come with your electric or hybrid car in complete peace of mind, as you will be able to charge your electric car via one of our charging points located in the Yelloh Village campsite.

We mainly use wood to build: the cleaning room, the playground or the sanitary facilities for the motorhome, caravan or tent pitches… The use of wood has a great advantage: it reduces the production of waste and the need for water during the construction work. Needless to say, this natural material is also an excellent insulator!

Instead of installing artificial privacy screens, we prefer to use plant hedges to make you feel even closer to nature. We also take care of our plants that are not resistant to the cold by protecting them or keeping them “warm” at the reception.

Our technicians only use battery-powered equipment, from the screwdriver to the leaf blower and even the pool cleaner. No pollutants are released into the atmosphere!

We use lagging – a technique for insulating water and heating pipes that reduces energy consumption by up to 20%!

We withdraw the water from the pool to water the plants on the campsite: more than 50,000 litres of water are reused, allowing us to have a nice piece of nature!

We are always open to other commitments as we understand the importance of the issues facing our society. Among all these small gestures that we carry out daily, there are also some social actions.
